<\/a><\/p>\nSince the extreme change of climate, Taiwan faces multiple hazards by typhoons, floods, and earthquakes. After 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, researchers have paid more attention to bridge damages caused by multiple hazards, to disaster prevention and reduction, and to disaster assistance and recovery. National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), Kyoto University, and Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering organize the 13th Taiwan-Japan Workshop on Structural and Bridge Engineering. This workshop is held on 28-29 March 2023, at NCREE in Taipei, Taiwan.
\nThis workshop aims to exchange views on latest researches and practical experiences, discussing how to address future challenges in structural and bridge engineering. This workshop invites senior researchers and outstanding engineers and professors, from Japan and Taiwan, to share their experiences and achievements in structural and bridge engineering. The Japan experts come from Kyoto University, Kanto Gakuin University, Kumamoto University, Kyushu University, Osaka Metropolitan University, Hanshin Expressway Company Limited, Public Work Research Institute, and Shutoko Technology Center. The Taiwan experts are from NCREE, CECI Engineering Consultants, Inc., National Taiwan University, National Taipei University of Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. This workshop focuses on three topics: (1) structural Engineering, (2) bridge Engineering, and (3) other problems that structural and bridge engineers encounter and need to face. We believe that this workshop\u2019s success could help Taiwan researchers and engineers aquire invaluable knowledge and thus could help develop and upgrade the bridge engineering in Taiwan.<\/p>\n
